    Backpacks & snowmobiling

Has anyone ever taken any Tom Bihn backpacks (Tri Star, Brain Bag, Western Flyer) or travel bags (Aeronaut, etc.) on the trail for snowmobiling? I'm interested in what kinds of winter experiences you may have had.

Hey MtnMan: I have taken the RuckSac on a dog sled; and I also took it on a float plane. I used it quite a bit on the trail and loved it.

Do you ever have problems with snow getting in your pack? What about snow/ice buildup? Melting?

Our local snowmobile club runs a set of sled dog races (including a mid-distance race and ski-joring sprints) as part of a local winterfest, and conditions here vary from year to year. Some years, we have wet snow. Other years, it's more powdery.

Our Club's volunteers also act as trail hosts on the national forest snowmobile system.

I'm curious about how these bags hold up in winter. How do you dry one after it's been out all day?
