iPad Mini protective case

I'm getting an iPad Mini, yay, for my birthday, so, of course I'm looking at TB protection.
I see the cache for the Mini, but I'm wondering if I could use the medium padded pouch instead?
I like having the hook for extra safety while traveling.
Can anyone give me feedback?

Yes you can do that, it fits, even with the "smart cover" the cover from Apple that folds and comes in many colors
