Somewhere I thought I read (can't remember where) that there might be an archival something-or-other in the works, a place to put all the papers that overflow out of your Field Journal that you want to save. Is this remotely right?

It's on the left hand side of the product page, right under Maverick video. :)
Field Journal Notebook: TOM BIHN
Oh excellent! Thank you!
Perhaps that's where I read about it in the first place, heh. :)
I just found out the Clear Quarter Packing Cube makes a perfect archival item for Field Journal Notebook sized pages, ( half letter size/A5)
I placed a Junior/Half Letter size notepad and it fits perfectly so the pages coming from it, will fit too.
I was inspired to try the Clear Quarter Packing Cube this way by the post below:

Looking at that picture, I am fairly confident that a whole calendar year, along with notes taken during the same length of time and maybe 100 to 200 pages of thicker art paper or card stock would fit in the Clear Quarter Packing Cube.
Speaking of heavier paper, a couple of pages of recycled construction paper, cut half letter size (punched or not) would fit in the Field Journal Notebook as an emergency entertainment item for children.
August is usually the start of school items sales. Just sayin... ;)
Oh thank you! What a great idea! I'll add one of those to my order. I'd read that post before about the bible cover but hadn't made the connection to using it as a storage device.
