Hand carry Ristretto for iPad?

I notice in one of the few pictures of the back of the Ristretto for iPad what appears to be a single loop near the top. Is this loop designed for carrying or is one essentially limited to using the strap for Ristretto transport?

I have the larger Ristretto for my Macbook, but I believe they are similar. There is a small strap near the top; I find it more useful to use that to grab the bag to pull it up before putting the (larger) strap over my shoulder, but I don't see why you couldn't use the smaller strap to hold the bag.

Although I initially didn't like the grab handle on the ipad Ristretto, I find I use it a lot to carry the bag. Works very well.

I've also taken the shoulder pad off the strap as I feel it's a better look, and still comfortable if you don't load it up too much.
