    Cool Synapse Question

    Hello everyone,

I am a newbie here at the forums but been lurking around for a year or so.

Already a proud owner of the Imago which I use everyday and looking to expand my collection even more... :-D

Just looking at the Synapse backpack and wondering if it is a comfortable fit for a DSLR? I've already got a KATA bag for the camera but finding it heavy with everything loaded. I've used the Imago in a pitch but my back gets sore after a while... I was thinking with the Synapse, it'll be better for the back as the weight would be distributed more.

The DSLR in question is the Canon 40D which is still my trusty companion after all these years!

Oh, I'll also be throwing in a Large Cafe Bag as I LOVE that new Linen colour!!! Too bad the Synapse doesn't come in that, a Synapse in Linen/Steel? mmmmm

    Thanks again,
    cobrien

You should have plenty of room for the DSLR and a couple of lenses (plus a whole bunch of other stuff). You'll need some kind of insert to keep things from banging around though.

    cobrien,

I believe there is a nice video on the website showing the use of a synapse as a camera bag. I recently used it on a trip to transport an ipad, macbook air 11", and an olympus EPL-1 mirrorless with 4 lens. More than enough room and worked great!
Empire builder (Black, black, steel), Ristretto for Ipad (Steel/Wasabi), Synapse (Indigo/Solar) 2 padded organizer pouches, 3D organizer, ultasuede cloth, cache for ipad, cache for Macbook air 11", clear waller, 2 absolute straps

    Hello all,

Thank you for all your responses! It seems Maverick has a video for everything/anything Tom Bihn! :-D
I'm definitely won over then for the Synapse as camera bag concept especially after the video shows how much can go into it! Just need to get a monopod walking stick and I am all set!

I'm asking as I am planning a trip to Fraconia Notch in NH during early July and plus to see Barre VT for the quarry / cemetery.

So, I'll be waiting a few weeks to see if that camera insert is ready anytime? ;-D

Again, thank you all so much for the replies!

    Cheers

I carry around my Canon Rebel XT in my Synapse, but I've not seen that video before. Great video!

    Hello All,

Well, I've decided on getting that TARDIS bag in Navy/Solar for my daypack / camera bag to use when out in New Hampshire in a few weeks! Thank you for all the comments and feedback on my question! So I closed my eyes and pressed that buy button! Also have a Linen/Olive Large Cafe Bag winging my way as well...

That has 2 items off my buy list... but that new Scarlet lady is whispering to me! LOVE that new colour! Now we'll have to wait for Tuesday to see what comes for the new colour.. Another one in the green/blue family or a grey-blue?

So now I've got these, the next one is Aeronaut or bust!

    best,
cobrien / the Canadian Tom Bihn fan (one of many!)
