Hi fellow forum members,

I heard from Katy in response to an email I sent to Tom Bihn via the web interface and I got some information that is relevant to this thread. Katy said, "The new products that will be announced soon will not include the Field Journal. The new items should be announced and up for preorder within the first weeks of April." Thank you Katy for letting me know!

It would be really cool if the FJN would be able to hold/carry the iPad, though not just for the iPad, just the ability if so desired, it would have provisions for it.

The Field Journal is indeed very cool. Tom is busy working on it, and I cannot wait to order one. It continues to improve, Tom has put much thought into this.

The link above refers to the thread called "Field Notebook teaser on Twitter" it has a picture of the Field Notebook prototype, it was included on an e-newsletter send by Tom Bihn Inc.

Tom is always refining his designs using people's input, societal trends, technical innovations and his own inspiration.


Leonardo didn't have to worry about reverse engineering from pictures, but innovators, in the internet age, do.

The Field Journal Notebook is done! We're waiting on a few special components (a lot of cool stuff is going into the FJN - for example, the ring mechanism from Austria) and once we get those in, the FJN will go up for pre-order sometime in June.
