Empire/Zephyr Question

I had posted this question in the Reviews section on a thread I started there, but I realized it was better placed here.

Is the Steel fabric on the outside panel of the Empire Builder and the Zephyr ballistic?

indeed, the outside of the flap on both the empire builder and zephyr briefcases is made from 1050d ballistic nylon.
