Which Horizontal brain Cell fits my Vaio VGN-FW490

I am anxious to order the above laptop bag for my Vaio VGN-FW490. I received a voice mail from Tom Bihn Service and was advised to choose Size 1 with interior dimensions of 15.4 × 10.3 × 1.2. My laptop's dimensions are 15.1 x 10.3 x 1.14 to1.46 (the hinge section is thicker than the front lid). The voice mail mentioned that there was a difference in the 10.3, vs what he said was 10.1 for the bag. I didn't see that, but I am concerend about the 1.2" thickness of the bag compared to the 1.46" maximum thickness of my laptop.

Would you recommend size 2M instead with interior dimensions of 15.5 × 11.4 × 1.6 inches?

I'd stick with the Size 1 and here is why: looking at the website for your laptop, it appears they are measuring from the tabletop to the top of the case with the lid closed, but that includes the rise of the feet on the bottom of your laptop. I would measure the actual thickness of the laptop when closed to get an accurate thickness. Also, assuming the specs from Sony are correct, we're talking about 26/100ths of an inch which will only provide a snugger fit for your laptop. Going with a larger size will allow the laptop more "slop" room for movement, but leave your laptop vulnerable to damage from that extra movement.

Thanks. I ordered the larger size after speaking to Tom Bihn. I was assured that although it was less snug, it would be fine.
