I don't think it will. I have a Synapse (2 actually!) and a 15" work laptop. The laptop fits by itself in the Synapse just fine but I don't think it would work with a cache -- perhaps a thinner, fairly snug neoprene type case it may. I don't use it daily to carry my 15" laptop but when I do, it is fine. It isn't like I go throwing the thing long distances or anything. I suppose if there was some accident like me falling down the stairs or something with it that may be an issue (in more ways than one) but in general use, I find I don't need all of that padding anyway. YMMV
