Might actually have been me with the Saddleback briefcase posting on flyertalk--although I haven't been there in at least a month or two because I've switched over to MilePoint instead. I love the Saddleback bag, but I don't care to fly with it. It works great for work trips that are done by car because I don't tend to have to carry it very far and I feel it looks more "professional" and classic than nylon/synthetic bags. It's definitely a heavy bag. It carries a ton too, so if I make the mistake of loading it up with laptop, charger, accessories and a stack of paper, it gets well into the range of "difficult to manage"... And I'm fairly tolerant of a lot of weight on my shoulders.
Oh, and my thoughts on the dyneema pattern: It's ok. I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. For linings, it's great, actually. It's easier to see things in there, especially with steel, where things might otherwise blend into the shadows. As an external fabric, I have mixed feelings, as discussed in my request for thoughts on the co-pilot. In the end, I am pretty sure that I am going to keep the dyneema co-pilot and return the forest one. The weight difference is well worth my "dislike" of the fabric, although honestly, I think I liked the look of the steel dyneema over the forest ballistic nylon for that particular bag. If there were a "stealth black" dyneema option, I'd be all over it for several bag designs and would think the ripstop texture would look great.
