does anyone here have one? if so, i was wondering if anyone had a problem with their cd not coming out of the slit or just plain stuck inside the unit? or for that matter, any other problems? maybe you had none? i am pretty interested in getting one.
Way over priced, sounds dreadful! The bull they try to sell about room filling sound is just that; bull! Also, I suggest that the CD, as a format, is likely to see the same sad demise as my beloved LPs, so investing in an overpriced player may be a waste. Consider a 'streaming' option of one kind or another. There are options from iPod and dock to Linn Klimax DS (www.linn.co.uk). Most will give any cost equivalent BOSE system a good kicking.
Not a lot of value for your $$$$.

However, the CD reader will fail a few years in.
yeah, i heard a few negative things about the cd player. i think that i have made up my mind about this expensive alarm clock. might as well get a docking station, it's just that i need something that is more user friendly for my wife to use rather than my audiophile stereo system.Quote:

Dr. Bose is a marketing GENIUS to say the least.
He is also a very smart guy and gifted scientist.
If you can not resist the allure of tiny speakers sounding big at least try to find some value for the money.
Both Cambridge and Tivoli were created by Dr.Bose' close friend Henry Kloss with whom he shares several patents on fundamental principles in Audio and Physics.
Much better sound for less money and better built in my experience.
He's actually a very down-to-earth guy. He lives here.
But yes, personal experience with the CD reader failing. I've been trying to replace it for years now (for my mother, who's still old-school with her CDs), but hard to come by such an easy-to-use system in such a small package. I'll take a look at Tivoli, thanks!

we've used speakers from meyer sound, and they are just wonderful!
i haven't heard these myself, but they make a 4" cube - the MM4 series.
if you can, separate the speakers from the mechanism that delivers the sound to the speakers. that will allow you to easily play cd's today, and a variety of anything else down the road.

Good marketing so far and they all love Table Radios it seems.
I also have a Bose Sub/Sat system just to demo against!
Every one asks about Bose so I let them decide for themselves.
So far I have never left one in a house and do not plan to.

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but... I'm looking to graduate from computer speakers to a nicer sound system for my small house. What would you guys recommend? I've been looking at amps and speakers, but the idea of taking up floor space with big stand-up speakers isn't that appealing to me. Is there some way to have a set of nice-ish computer speakers in each room, all connected by something like Apple Airport, playing the same music from an iPod or something like that? Sound is important to me, and what started me on this path is the experience of hearing music at the house of a friend who has an amp and big speakers. Forgive me if this is a dumb question. Maybe you're already talking about something in this thread that works, but I'm completely new to this world of sound systems/speakers and it confuses me. Thanks!
