Irish Setter Lass PEPPER II

Our most recent foster Little PEPPER was struck by a car before coming into foster care. Had her owners taken her to a vet right away, the hip could have been repaired for about $200.

After many months of suffering, the damage was so severe that orthopedic surgery (FHO) was required to return her to something approximating normal functionality. Save Our Setters stepped up and authorized the surgery, at a cost of approximately $2,300! The final amount will vary based on how much physical therapy she requires post-op.

She had her surgery today, and came through with flying colors. She will return to us on Friday.

Save Our Setters has posted a video of this brave little girl, who will be available for adoption when she is healed.

I just wanted to post a quick thank you to all of the forum members who have donated to PEPPER's cause! We are getting very close to actually having her surgery paid for! You guys are the best.

Our little wonder girl has made an amazing recovery. She is pain free now. She walks almost normally and is improving constantly. When it comes time to run, she still picks up the (formerly) bad leg and carries it - but that will come with time and continued physical therapy.

Her new family is absolutely wonderful, and they are continuing her therapy. The good folks at Save Our Setters have asked me to create a video celebrating her success - and here it is:

Awww man. Now I have to go wake up my dogs and hug them. I definitely don't want them to see the video though. They will realize how poor an owner I am when the see how big a back yard can really be.
