My "personal item" varies too much to give an accurate figure - it can be anything from a Side Effect to a heavily loaded Pilot, depending on the trip. I could weigh my toiletries, though - I'm...

DLBP padding is DIY! You have to stuff things into the back pockets to pad it out. I think you're right. I would go for the Synapse for the following reasons: - You can get a dyneema S19 to...

This is a perfectly timed thread. I have a stain on the gray material covering the inner pocket hems of my copilot - my tinted lip balm fell and marked it. I will try Dawn at home. @Abby I hope...

Greasy stains (and ballpoint pen, for that matter) can be taken care of with Goop. It's a very mild but effective grease cutter designed to be a hand soap for folks that break engines down and get...

Sorry to give an erroneous impression - this wasn't for my dayjob. I was attending the World Science Fiction Convention (aka WorldCon), which was in London this year, in my capacity as an author. ...

I had a bottle of Argan oil leak in one of mine. I was able to get it spotless with Dawn dish soap (best dish soap to break up grease) and OxyClean...

Less than 24 hours after flying halfway across the country, my kitty is settling in. 8232 That's a Little Swift she's lounging on. (She's a little cat.)

I have no idea how much my Smart Alec weighed when I went to WorldCon earlier this month, but it was surprisingly comfortable when on my back even though it was quite a weight to lift. Contents...

My (small, like 10th percentile) 6yo liked the idea of the (Cordura) S19, but in practice balked at carrying it thru the airport when it contained anything more than a notebook, some pencils, and a...

My kids are 9 and 11, and pretty small body builds. They carry S19s for short trips. We keep it on the smallest (tightest) setting, and it still only works best for light loads and shorter durations....
