The Super Ego bag, being my first, or second Tom Bihn product is proving to be an excellent bag while working well with it's partner the Brain Cell 2XL. Commuting to and from the office on a Vespa ET4 necessitates loading everything I need for the day into the main and front compartments. The dimensions are approximately 15"x18"x7.5" when semi-loaded which makes it a pretty big bag.
When fully loaded with my 15.5"x11"x2" Dell Inspiron 9200 in a 2XL, the main compartment is pretty much filled with maybe enough room for flat items like drawings, CD's or a spare battery pack. The main flap compartment stores the usual items, PDA, business cards, pens, cell phone and a half bunch of bananas. On the back side of the bag is a waist belt, which I have already removed as this particular feature hasn't been of much use for me. The bag while it is rather large, still lies fairly flat and is surprising comfortable slung over my side while zipping around town.
The large zippers and nylon cord zipper pulls are nice touches when using the bag with gloves on. My only very minor criticism of the bag's design might be the main shoulder strap not being able to pivot or swivel so the strap might require some untwisting before the bag is put on again. Accolades to Tom for designing and constructing this very nice messenger bag. I'm enjoying mine,as it's well worth the wait.
