Our Packing Cubes are designed to help you organize and keep neat and tidy your clothes, socks, and shoes; they're the perfect complement to — and are available in specific sizes for — our Aeronaut 45, Aeronaut 30, Tri-Star, Western Flyer, Pilot and Night Flight Travel Duffle carry-on travel bags.
Packing Cubes can be used in multiple configurations. Made out of our custom ultralight 200 denier Japanese Dyneema®/nylon ripstop fabric, our Packing Cubes are very lightweight yet tough enough for a lifetime of use for most folks. Note that, in some sizes, Packing Cubes are available in either Fabric/Mesh or All Fabric. The All Fabric version is intended for storing shoes, dirty clothes, or other items you may want to keep separate from the other stuff inside your bag. The Fabric/Mesh version allows you to more easily see what's inside your Packing Cube.
The top of our Packing Cubes features a webbing loop for hanging them on a hook or doorknob.
Large Packing Cube: Use two (stacked one on top of the other), or one plus two Small Packing Cubes.
Small Packing Cube: Use four (stacked one on top of the other, or interlocking like bricks), or two plus one Large Packing Cube.
End Pocket Packing Cube: One fills each end pocket, or four can fill the main compartment, like books on a shelf. Note: The End Pocket Packing Cube is available in either Fabric/Fabric or Fabric/Mesh. The All Fabric version is intended for shoes or other items you may want to keep separate from the rest of your stuff. The Fabric/Mesh version of the Aeronaut End Packing Cube is slightly different than the Fabric/Mesh Tri-Star and Western Flyer Packing Cubes in that both sides (or top and bottom, once it's out of the Aeronaut) are fabric rather than the top being mesh; in other words, the edges are mesh. This is specifically because the mesh does not slide as nicely as our Dyneema®/nylon fabric, and it's necessary for the Fabric/Mesh Packing Cube (especially when full) to be able to gracefully slide into the end pockets; in Tom's early prototypes that were mesh on one side, the mesh would catch on the Aeronaut's zipper, etc., as we tried to slide it in.
In the Tri-Star:
Small Packing Cube: Use one Small by itself or with a Medium in any of the three main compartments. Note: The Small Packing Cube is available in either Fabric/Fabric or Fabric/Mesh. The mesh version allows you to easily see what's inside while the fabric version keeps items like shoes separate from other items.
Medium Packing Cube: Use one Medium by itself or with a Small in any of the three main compartments.
Large Packing Cube: Use one in any of the three main compartments.
In the Western Flyer:
Small Packing Cube: Use two in each main compartment of the Western Flyer. Or, use two Small in either compartment and one Large in the other compartment. Note: The Small Packing Cube is available in either Fabric/Fabric or Fabric/Mesh. The mesh version allows you to easily see what's inside while the fabric version keeps items like shoes separate from other items.
Large Packing Cube: Use one in each main compartment of the Western Flyer. Or, use one Large in either compartment and two Small in the other compartment.
In the Pilot:
Large Packing Cube: One fits nicely (and, if packed to the max, almost fills up) the main compartment of the Pilot.
In the Night Flight Travel Duffle:
One Size Packing Cube: Use two to completely fill the main compartment. Because of the shape of the main compartment of the Night Flight Travel Duffle,
the two Packing Cubes will stack best if they are turned at 90 degrees to each other. Looking down into the main compartment they would look like this:
Also available are the Packing Cube Shoulder Bag (for use in the Aeronaut,
