"Your definition of long use poses no challenge to Tom Bihn bags, in my experience. A decade ago TB sold a padded version of what's now called the Large Cafe Bag as a laptop bag. I bought one (plum and kiwi), and it has outlived three laptops and survived a tornado, and for the past six years it has been in the custody of a commuting niece of mine who carries her mac laptop everywhere, every day. I swear to you, it looks (and works) EXACTLY as it did when it first came out of the box. Nothing has peeled, frayed, popped, or broken. This picture shows another use for our Horizontal Freudian Slip organizational insert: hang it on the wall and it becomes the perfect place to store pens, ruler, calculator, business cards, file folders or papers, Post-its or other small items, keeping them at easy access while your desk is free of clutter. You can also hang the Freudian Slip on the doorknob of your office. A Vertical Freudian Slip is also available and works for wall organization, too.

"Yea pretty close: the 1680 "ballistic" is woven of a single yarn of 1680 denier nylon, while the 1050 domestic fabric is woven of two 1050 denier yarns. Both fabrics are of comparable thickness, and in terms of flexibility or "hand" as we call the stiffness, both can be finished to be either soft of firm. Anyway, this explains why they are called by different names. Why they perform differently is less clear to me. I do know that the 1680 can look crappy after only a few months use. I will ask my fabric guru John Ball when next I see him to explain more, and I will post again here soon!"

"i just returned from a 10 day trip to india. i wanted to carry 4 changes of clothes (layered clothing because it's in the 40's at night and as warm as the high 60's during the day), toiletries, a pair of flip flops, a large point and shoot camera (canon g7), iphone, ipod, and headphones. i also wanted to carry a bag that i could use while there, but one i would not have to carry separately along the way. i was transiting through 3 airports on the way there, each of which required me to go through security (this is after the initial security screening at the originating airport). i didn't want to worry about delayed or lost luggage - everything had to come onboard."
