A little about myself: I am training for the Napa Valley marathon
March 4, through Team in Training, raising
money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. This will
be my second marathon. My first was Long Beach this last October.
Before that training season, the farthest I had ever run was 2 miles!

Our team consists of around 60 people. We meet each Saturday morning
at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena for our long runs, and train mostly by
ourselves during the week. There are also optional Wednesday night
practices. We have a training schedule given to us by the coaches that
we follow. My goal is to begin training for a 50 mile marathon after the Napa Valley marathon, to take place sometime towards the end of this year.

This has been a somber season, though. One of our honored teammates
(the individuals we connect with in person who have or are suffering
from Leukemia/Lymphoma) passed away, as did our coaches father who also had Leukemia. Those passings helped to further solidify in my mind the reason for my time spent running and fundraising.
