The above photos show a Canon 5D with a battery grip (this combination approximates the size of the body of the Canon 1D) in the Camera I-O. As you can see, it’s a tight squeeze, but it does fit.
Our Aeronaut maximum size carry-on travel bag is about to sell out in almost every color combination, but don’t worry: our Seattle factory has already cut the next batch of Aeronaut and they will ship within 4-6 weeks. Still, if you’re going on a trip before then and want to take the Aeronaut with you, we’d recommend placing your order right away.
The Aeronaut in Steel/Solar.
However, Black/Steel is already on backorder in the Ristretto for iPad and Ristretto for 11″ MacBook Air. We expect Black/Steel to sell out in the Ristretto for 13″ MacBook Air/MacBook Pro soon. The other colors — Steel/Iberian, Olive/Cayenne, and Navy/Solar — are close to selling out, too.
As always, when a color sells out, we make it available for backorder with an estimated shipping date. When you place a backorder with us, your credit card won’t be charged until your order actually ships. It’s often a good idea to place a backorder because backorders are typically shipped out well in advance of a bag officially being back in-stock.
Thanks to our Seattle factory crew, the following bags, previously on backorder, are now in-stock and ready to ship.

This New York Times interview with Jodi Ettenberg – solo traveler extraordinaire and author of Legal Nomads – made us wonder how many of you are women who travel solo. As a solo traveler, do you place some level of trust in the universe and go with your gut? Do you take precautions? And if so, what are they? Has your consideration of the risks of a trip ended in your decision not to go? What are the benefits of traveling solo?
If you were thinking of getting a Brain Bag, you may want to place your order soon: we’re close to selling out of colors Black, Steel, and Navy. Once those colors sell out, they will be made available for backorder. Our Seattle factory will begin work on the next batch of Brain Bags soon.
“It’s the cool of the evening in Athens and I am back home to reflect on the day’s excitement and tales of derring-do. It’s not often you get an iPad and a MacBook Air stolen, then follow the exciting chase block by block through a city before the culprits are apprehended. My devices and the hardy Ristretto bag are now back in my possession, thanks to Sergeant Hanis and his colleagues at the Glyfada police station, and are seemingly none the worse for their exciting adventures.”

Read the full story at macfilos. In addition to Find My iPad, what helped the Athens police track down the stolen Ristretto and its contents was bag’s Cocoa color. Mike of macfilos notes: “They recognised them because of my description of the Ristretto, which is in a coffee colour and stands out from all the black bags.”
Thanks to our Seattle factory crew, the following bags are back in-stock and ready to ship within one business day:
