“Here I am sporting my new Smart Alec about a minute before walking on stage at the Sunset Festival in Fukuoka Japan yesterday, Sunday September 6th. I’m currently on tour for two weeks playing bass across Japan. This is the maiden voyage for my Smart Alec, and I’ve been putting it to dual use: First I tote my laptop (in a Brain cell clipped inside) to the hotel, along with my train reading material and some snacks and such. I also use a couple of clear organizer pouches to carry my computer and camera chargers and cables. When I leave for the venue, I remove the computer and load a change of shirt, the setlists, an extra set of bass strings, a camera and various sundries like sunglasses and sun screen, along with a clear pouch containing extra footpedal cables and guitar picks. The ipod itself (which I use to time our sets as we play) lives in the side pocket of my Smart Alec inside a small padded organizer pouch. Unfortunately I lagged a little in ordering my pouches, but once I receive my clear quarter cube which I think will handle my chargers and cables a little better, I think my rig will be just about perfect! Thanks to everyone at Tom Bihn!”
Look very closely, and you’ll see reina at the top of Denali with her Brain Bag. Just kidding! There aren’t any bags in this picture, but it is such an amazing photograph of Mt. McKinley that we had to share it with you. Thanks to reina from the TOM BIHN Forums for posting this picture! See a larger version of the photograph and read about reina’s trip to Denali here.
“I took my Brain Bag while visiting several sites in Virginia Beach and Norfolk.
My husband and son went with me to the Virginia Aquarium, Virginia Zoo, and the Nauticus (and USS Wisconsin). The Brain Bag worked wonderfully to carry cameras, a change of clothes for my son (just in case of spills), and anything else we needed.” Posted by Radio bug in the TOM BIHN Forums.
Below are pictures of the Aeronaut in use, posted by maverick in the TOM BIHN forums. Read the full thread here, where you’ll find a post by maverick describing yet another reason why you’ll never want to check luggage again.
This video – shot by maverick – shows the Aeronaut in the overhead compartment of an Air Canada CRJ 100 Series.
“they announced all roll aboards had to be gate checked, and of course i was able to bring my Aeronaut aboard …
fit nicely in the overhead bin, most of which were empty. ”
“My Side Effect lounging on the beach in Cancun last week below. It proved to be a very capable beach accessory, holding my Blackberry, camera, paperback, pen, flashlight, knife, cash, room key and other odds/ends. Wonderful bag.” – Posted by bltkmt in the TOM BIHN Forums. The Side Effect is currently available in colors Olive, Plum, and Indigo. Colors Black and Steel are available for backorder and ship by late August.
