Shiva on the Smart Alec and Western Flyer in the D.C. Blizzard
On the Western Flyer (WF):
“Mostly, I wanted to say how much I appreciated having the WF on this trip. I had this plus a small roll on (16inch); I packed both casual and dress clothes for a week, plus a lot of paperwork. While everyone else was struggling with bags on wheels when we finally got out at BWI, cos of snow covered parking lots and sidewalks, I walked away with my WF on my back and the small roll on could be carried really easily.”

On the Smart Alec:
“[In the D.C. blizzard] I did what i have not done since I left Illinois as a grad student: went grocerying with my Smart Alec. Picture attached.
This is what I had in it: 6 apples; a box of Cheerios; a loaf of bread; a bag of chips (full size); a big box of Yogurt; half gallon of milk; and tomatoes safely ensconsed in the top pockets. It was great! Did not think I could carry all this so easily and comfortably.”

Synapse, Side Effect, and Brain Bag in central NY snow

“My wife and I spent the last several days in the Finger Lakes region of New York, arriving just in time for a pretty big snowstorm. As usual, we went carry-on only and used only TB bags. I carried on an Aeronaut and a Brain Bag; she had an Aeronaut, a Synapse, and a Side Effect.”

Loki: Photos of the Synapse on hike in Northern California
“Here are a couple of shots of my Synapse on a recent day hike in the mountains of Northern California. It was my first time hiking with it and it performed very well. It was light, and moved well, even while I was scrambling and jumping from rock to rock. I was very excited to be able to use my 2 liter water bag in the back pocket… though it had to be somewhat underfilled (the drinking tube is visible in the picture). Overall, I couldn’t be happier. The synapse has made for an excellent every day bag. I love the compartmentalization that means there is room in the smaller pockets even when the main compartment. and is proving itself as adept on the trail (even for a reasonably long day hike)… and the ability to use a water pouch effectively is great. ”
