TOM BIHN Laptop Keyboard Cover in Cayenne

The TOM BIHN Laptop Keyboard Cover is a thin rectangle of Ultrasuede® that you sandwich between the keyboard and the screen of your laptop when you fold it shut. Ultrasuede® is a high-tech synthetic suede material that feels like chamois; it pads the laptop screen from the keyboard when the laptop is closed (especially useful when transporting your laptop) as well as absorbing dirt and oil that your fingers leave behind on the keys.

Rainy Day First Look: The Western Flyer

Rainy Day Magazine First Look at the TOM BIHN Western Flyer

“RainyDayMagazine readers are well aware of our penchant for Tom Bihn gear. Someone in an elevator once noticed we had a Tom Bihn case and said they had a few Bihn bags. His toughest problem was coming up with new reasons for continually purchasing the latest TB creations. We know EXACTLY how he feels :-) ” — read the entire review (and see more pictures) over at Rainy Day Magazine or see the Western Flyer.

Cleveland Plain Dealer Review: The Aeronaut

Gadget Review: Aeronaut carry-on bag adaptable to many situations

Monday, January 14, 2008
Brett Burney
Special to The Plain Dealer

Excerpt:

“When you’re tired of carrying the Aeronaut by the handle or the shoulder strap (which is an additional cost), you can pull out the masterfully concealed backpack straps from the back of the bag. It’s rare that I put the Aeronaut in backpack mode, but it sure is helpful when I need free hands to corral a 2-year-old in the airport.

The $175 price may sound expensive compared with other bags, but you would be hard-pressed to find a better-made, better-quality travel bag.”

Can you machine wash your TOM BIHN bag?

We don’t recommend it, and doing so voids our guarantee. But if you want the full scoop on why some people do it anyway (and what happens if your bag breaks in the washing machine), see this forum thread: “You can wash the bags”

Imagine: Color Swatches

TOM BIHN Cayenne/Olive
When you think of TOM BIHN bags, the first things that come to your mind might be:

  • Smart, thoughtful, and innovative design
  • Superior construction and durability
  • Great Customer Service
  • A Company that Does the Right Thing
  • Listens to customers
  • And:

  • Colors. Vibrant and saturated colors.
  • You’ve told us that you like our colors, color combinations, and that you’d even like for us to offer more colors. We’ve listened and have, in recent history, experimented with new colors and new color combinations. This means that color combinations might vary from bag to bag and from time to time.

In many cases, a bag in a new color or color combination may be available for order or pre-order before there is even a picture of it. In that situation, our Color Swatch window becomes very useful. You’ll find a link to the Color Swatch window on every product’s page in the upper left-hand corner. The Color Swatch window has up-to-date swatches of all TOM BIHN colors, helping you to imagine how colors will look together. You can click on each swatch for a larger swatch and description of color, including Pantone® approximate matches for most colors.

    Other notes:

  • If the color you’re looking for isn’t available for selection in the drop-down menu on a bag’s page, it’s not available and won’t be for the foreseeable future.
  • We do not make bags in custom colors: sorry!
  • Do we recommend waiting to see if a particular color combination becomes available before you buy your bag? No. All color combinations available for the foreseeable future are available for order or pre-order.
  • We are always working on adding more pictures of each bag in each of its color combinations to the Web site: stay tuned!
  • As always, we want to hear what you have to say. Post in our forums.
  • Forums: Clever idea, Small Cafe, Absolute Strap, and more

Excerpted from recent posts in the TOM BIHN Forums:

“After a month, the Small Cafe fits my needs perfectly and it still looks brand new. I can see this bag lasting a long time while still looking smart years from now, so I’m glad that I spent the extra money for a Tom Bihn bag. The best thing is that no one has made fun of my “man purse” at all. Thanks for the great bag and friendly discussion forum…” — Go to PanicKing’s post.

“I have a Padded Organizer, and it provided excellent protection for my digital point-and-shoot riding in a minimalist backpack on assignment in New Zealand and Thailand this fall. If you have a larger iPod, you’ll probably be happiest with a medium padded organizer. If you’ve got some flavor of Nano, the small will do. If you’re not going to be happy, you’ll know right away, and the TB return policy is most reasonable.” — Go to LWarren’s post.

“Absolute straps are hands down my numero uno fav accessory for fully loaded bags. I love ‘em so much I just replaced all my heavy aluminum camera bag straps with Absolute. I let out a big laugh today when I did that for one case. Absolute straps seem to reduce perceived weight by half!” — Go to Zephyrnoid’s post.

“Brad from OBOW here. I’d welcome questions about this through my blog (http://onebagger.squarespace.com/blog/2008/2/8/tom-bihn-western-flyer-full-user-review.html), but would also be happy to answer any here. I’m continuing to use the WF and am finding it to be quite versatile.” — Go to onebagger’s post.

“TB products are by far the best I’ve seen on the market and your customer service should be taught in business classes as a model for other companies. ” — Go to Steve’s post.

    Must…replace…all my bags…with…Bihn….

“Well, I didn’t think I needed new bags either. But my wife and I did need protective sleeves for our Macbooks, so I found TB and ordered some Brain Cells, which impressed me so thoroughly that I bought my daughter a Ruck’s Sack to replace the LL Bean backback she and we weren’t terribly happy with functionally, and that was such a hit I got myself a Zephyr, which kicked my Italian leather briefcase to the curb. So yes, my family didn’t need new bags per se, but after seeing the level of quality of a TB product, it’s hard not to want to replace every bag in the house with its Bihn equivalent.” — posted by jonjake in the TOM BIHN Forums.

    When buying Tom Bihn gear…

long-term investment and supporting a small company that
uses design for competitive advantage and customer
