“The stats: I’m 5′0″ tall and am wearing a few layers, including a sweater and fall jacket…a combination thicker than my winter coat. The bag fits very comfortably over my shoulder. I can also carry the bag in my hand and clear the floor. To be able to do both at 5′0″ tall?? THAT’S good design people!” — Pictures and comments from indigodragonfly. “By the way, I’ve determined that my snake charmer is one of my most reliable workhorse items. Originally, it was just going to be the repository of my laptop power cord and perhaps my phone charger. Now, there’s a “charger side”, which has power cords and associated detritus for: laptop, cell phone, USB headset and PDA, along with a couple packs of AA and AAA batteries. On the other side, there’s an ethernet cable, a couple thumb drives on a lanyard, a few pens, a laser pointer for training classes, a cordless mouse and its little USB plug, and perhaps a few other things I can’t remember. One glance tells me which side is facing me, since it’s mesh, not solid. It sits happily at the bottom of my SmartAlec, and is always findable by feel, because of the mesh and handy loop on top.” — Posted by dsg29 in the TOM BIHN forums.
“We have just received our bag [The Swift] in the UK, which we ordered on 16th October. We are extremely pleased with both the design/quality of the bag, and the delivery service. We have had the bag for less than an hour, and my wife is already filling it with her knitting. Thank you very much.” — D.Y.
“The Ego Bag with the Brain Cell insert from Tom Bihn has become my new best friend for carrying around my computer. It is the right size for me, holds the right amount of gear and looks good too!! In this InkShow, I give a full look at the bag, it’s features and what it can hold. At the end, I almost do a ‘what’s in my gadget bag’ because I load up all the gear that I normally take around with me.” — Watch the Inkshow over at GottaBeMobile.com.
“The construction of the Aeronaut is fantastic. The bag will hold up to most anything you can throw at it as the exterior is abrasion resistant 1050 Ballistic Nylon. The zippers are heavy duty # 10 YKK Uretek Splash-Proof models and should hold up for years of service.” — Read the entire review.
Just a reminder that our Seattle retail store/factory showroom will be open this Saturday, October 20th, from 8:00am – 2:00pm.
The Swift has sold out in the following colors: Steel/Plum, Cocoa/Olive, Crimson/Black, Crimson/Steel, and Steel/Black. Backorders are being accepted for these colors and our factory is sewing them as I type: they will ship by mid-November.
The Swift is currently available in the following colors, though these too are going fast: Plum/Sapphire, Kelly/Navy, Black/Black, Sapphire/Steel, and Crimson/Navy.
Now available is a Clear Bottom Yarn Stuff Sack, designed for those of you who will be using multiple Yarn Stuff Sacks: the clear vinyl bottom allows you to easily see what the Yarn Stuff Sack holds. The Clear Bottom Yarn Stuff Sack is $15, ready to ship, and can be ordered separately here or ordered with the Swift.
And in other Swift news, Skylark has posted the first review in the TOM BIHN forums of the Swift: “Yep, the Swift was worth the wait. I like it and my sweetie was very accepting of another TB purchase since he has seen how well all the bags are designed, constructed and hold up during frequent use.” Read Skylark’s entire review of the Swift.
