Travelling by air with your laptop? What you need to know.

With the security at airports worldwide heightened, new restrictions are in effect that limit what you can carry onboard a plane.

Many of you, our customers, are travellers who carry laptops, cell phones, and other electronics with you in your carry-on Tom Bihn bags. Below are a few articles we’ve found that help explain what you can and can’t carry onto a plane right now, and what to do if you can’t take your laptop with you on your flight.

While it focuses on carry-on restrictions in the U.K., this article (Laptops Banned from Hand Luggage (IDG News Service)
offers good common sense advice on laptop security when travelling. The best advice? If you can’t carry it onboard with you, leave your laptop at home.

Can you bring your laptop with you in your carry-on luggage on a U.S. domestic flight? Right now, yes. For more on U.S. restrictions, read Questions and Answers on travel restriction from WSLS Newchannel 10.

No one knows how long these new security restrictions will be in effect. We will continue to post useful articles for travellers as we find them.

OhGizmo! Reviews the Empire Builder (A great review)

Have you found yourself longing for more pictures of the Empire Builder? A full description of its pockets? An assessment of the pros and cons?

Look no further than the review of the Empire Builder at OhGizmo!written by Andrew Liszewski.

Excerpt:
“The website claims the Empire Builder was three years in the design process and after using the bag for a few weeks now I don’t find that fact that hard to believe. When I first pulled the bag out of its shipping box I immediately noticed that this thing is covered in pockets and pouches and I have to say that’s one of the bag’s biggest strengths.”

And that’s only the beginning. Read the full review, and you’ll know almost as much about the Empire Builder as we do.

Note: The Empire Builder is (yet again) almost sold out. If you’d like one, we suggest you order now. The next batch will be available in late September.
